I have written on so many apps that pay you for doing virtually nothing and I can say, unabashedly, that the Indeed Job Spotter App is one of the few apps I can call my favorites.
Not only are you making a few dollars every day, you also get to help someone out there who is looking for a job and the small businesses too.
The Job Spotter App, created by one of the largest job search engine sites Indeed, is designed to help get more job notices to the platform by paying users a few bucks for simply snapping any ‘Help Wanted’ sign in their locality.
Basically, you are being paid to upload a clear hiring sign from any business around you. These are signs you see every day as you walk down the road, drive to work, the grocery store, and even on vacation.
Indeed is simply asking you to take a few seconds and snap these signs and get paid for your troubles. That’s it!
What Should I Know?
Getting started with the Job Spotter App is as easy as they come. You could be in and out of the app in a minute or two. All you have got to do is to visit your app store – Google Play Store or Apple’s App Store – and download the app for FREE.
Creating a Job Spotter account is just as easy. Simply open the app and register with a username and your email address. Done!
You will also find an easy tutorial on the app, which basically tells you the key to success.
- The first rule is to take close-up photo of the ‘help wanted’ sign. This rule is essential as it determines whether your submission is valid. Be sure to focus your camera on the sign put out by the business. It should be bold enough for anyone to read.
- Secondly, users are required to take a picture of the business storefront with its name on it. This isn’t focused on the sign. Simply take a photo of the storefront and make sure the name of the business appears in the photo.
- The last rule on the list warns users against taking photographs of people with the ‘Help Wanted’ or the business signs.
Note: Although you won’t find this among the three rules in the tutorial section, it is, however, critical to note that Job Spotter does not allow multiple submission. You cannot submit the same photo of a ‘Hiring’ sign of a particular shop more than once in a month. This also extends to submitting different ‘Hiring’ signs in the same shop.
It can be pretty discouraging when you see a sign out on a shop today and find another one for a different role in the same shop a few weeks later. I hope they try to correct this drawback. But, it is free cash, right? You can always find ‘Help Wanted’ sign in another store, and hope the new sign put out by the former shop stays there until the next month.
How Much Can I Make?
There is no limit on your earning. This is one reason why Job Spotter is so cool – besides being fun and super easy, of course. There will always be a company out there looking to hire people. Job Spotter is ready to accommodate all of them. There is no maximum number of submission. Therefore, there is no restriction on the amount you can make. You make as much as you want. I’ve seen other “Job Spotters” earn over $1500 in one month.
Job Spotter pays you anything between $0.5 to a little more than $1 for each submission – depending on how valuable they find your info to be. From my experience, it is obvious they put more value on jobs for small businesses compared to ‘Hiring’ signs for large retail chains that are always hiring.
Surprisingly, these amounts quickly add up to a substantial amount in no time. Again, depending on your locality and how much time you spend outside.
Can I Cash Out?
Absolutely! It is not a scam at all. Even better, you can cash out as little as $1. Yes, because the withdrawal system is through the Amazon gift card program. So, whenever you accumulate as much as you want for a gift card, you decide when to cash out without any hassle.
Tips to Earn More With Job Spotter App
I have been able to find my way around the app for months now and I feel it would be nice to share some hidden tips with you. Enjoy!
- Always Use the Camera in the App
New members usually fall victim to this rule. Job Spotter expects the users to take the photos of the sign using the camera in the app, not your default camera. Taking a photo of the sign or storefront with your ‘normal’ camera with the hope of submitting it later is wrong. Your submission will not be accepted. Always use the camera in the app!
1. Rinse and Reuse
Okay, this tip could help you circumvent the multiple submission rule. Since the window for submission from a particular company is about 30 days, you could submit the same photo you submitted this month in the coming month. This time the app won’t classify it as multiple submission. Also, a friend advised that those who made submission at the end of the month can make that same submission the following month without necessarily waiting for the 3-4 weeks window. For example, you could submit a store on March 31st and then again on April 1st.
2. Focus on Small Businesses
Lastly, as I mentioned before, the best means to up your earning is to focus on local small businesses. If you have used the app at all, you will notice that signs in small businesses earn you more than those in national firms and large businesses. To make it worth it, try focusing on small businesses. However, this doesn’t mean you should ignore signs in large companies. I personally submit everyone I see, it also gives me exercise because now I walk my local mall once a month.
Conclusion
In my opinion, the Job Spotter App is perfect for anyone who has a smart phone. If you work from home and don’t get out much this might not be worth it for you. But, if your usual daily routine involves walking at length, then, you might as well make a few bucks while you are doing it.
People that would find this app as a great tool for extra cash are those in large cities. If you live in a small town you may see fewer shops and even fewer stores with ‘Hiring’ signs.
This is the exact opposite for big cities. There are small businesses everywhere you look, thus, skyrocketing your chances of finding one with a ‘Help Wanted’ sign on it. Go for it!
Whatever the case may be, I think the Job Spotter App is great for those looking to earn extra cash by doing nothing other than their daily ‘walking’ routine. You should totally check it out!
